Frequently asked Questions

What is "neighborhood flag service"?

  • We set up an American flag in front of your property on select patriotic holidays. Set up in the morning, takedown around dusk.

How big is the flag and flag pole?

  • The flag is 3'x5' poly-cotton flag. It is attached to a 7.5' sturdy white flagpole topped with a decorative gold vinyl ball.

How do you make sure the flag doesn't fall down or ruin my landscaping?

  • The flag pole is placed over a coated rebar post about 3' long. We drive this thin rebar post a few inches into the ground so it's secure and then slip the flag pole over it. We post it at least a foot from any curb or edging, beyond where sprinklers and irrigation pipes are commonly laid.

What if I have a preference on where I want the flag displayed?

  • Placement is in your front yard, positioned per your instructions.

When is my flag posted and picked up?

  • We set up flags in the morning, some earlier than others depending on each of our routes. We pick up flags around dusk.

What if my flag wasn't posted or picked up?

  • Contact us! You'll have the name and phone number of your sales-kid.

Why don't you leave the flags displayed over a couple of days?

Can businesses get this flag service?

  • Yes! We have local businesses that love this service.

Can I have more than one flag set up at my property?

  • Absolutely. Some of our clients have requested two flags for several years.

How do I sign up?

  • Just submit this Request Flag Service form and we'll get a hold of you. Or if a sales-kid left you contact info, reach out to her or him.

Can I sponsor a flag for someone else?

  • Yes. We love it when neighbors and loved ones do this for others, especially for our honored veterans! Just tell us the name of the recipient and their address where the flag will be set up.

"Thank you! He is a mangled vet and I know seeing the flag will make him happy.

"I wanted to thank you again, I got him out on the porch to see it, he saluted and cried. It was a good thing for him to see."

"What a thoughtful, very meaningful service to be the recipient of Forever Remember Flags by you and your family. Thanks and tender mercies to you."

H., Holladay, Utah

Why don't you know if you service my address?

  • We're kids learning to run a business, and yes, we're really kids! We don't drive and so rely on our kind parents to drive us around. So it helps us if we have a handful of interested people close together before committing to them.

I filled out your form. How long before you get back to me?

  • Within a couple of days, if not sooner.

How do I pay? Do you take credit card?

  • We're kind of low tech for now, so we accept cash, check (payable to Forever Remember Flags), and Venmo (@Emron-Andrew). Most of our clients use Venmo. No credit cards.

I didn't see this when your service started this year. Is it too late to sign up?

  • No, it's not too late! We'll just charge you a portion of the normal cost.

What holidays do you do the flag service?

In 2022, we set up/take down flags on the following patriotic holidays:

  • May 30 Memorial Day

  • Jun 14 Flag Day

  • Jun 19 Juneteenth

  • Jul 4 Independence Day

  • Jul 23 Pioneer Day (observed Saturday)

  • Sep 6 Labor Day

  • Sep 10 Patriot Day (observed Saturday)

  • Nov 11 Veterans Day

What's Juneteenth?

Juneteenth is a federal holiday commemorating the last African American slaves being freed in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865, over two years the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect. It was signed into law on June 17, 2021. Learn more about the origins of Juneteenth.

Why don't you service holidays like Presidents Day, or Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday?

  • Patriotic days in the winter are a challenge due to the cold temperatures and frozen ground.

Is this associated with the Boys Scouts of America?

  • No, this is not affiliated with Scouting. Forever Remember Flags, LLC is a privately owned business operated by kids with their parents' help. However, two of the boys earned the rank of Eagle Scout by age 13!

Any other flags besides the American flag?

  • Nope. The Stars and Stripes is what we do. Call us old-fashioned kids, but Old Glory still gives us chills, and patriotism never goes out of style.

Seeing a street lined with flags is pretty awesome, right?

  • It sure is. Tell your neighbors about us and let's get your street all kinds of patriotic!

"I love the service that Forever Remember Flags provides - it creates a strong feeling of the importance of freedom on our street and around our neighborhood."
